Aaldering Vineyards & Wines is very happy to embrace Pinotage at the Aaldering Estate, by virtue of the sense of proud of South Africa and its varietal. The perfect terroir to cultivate top quality fruit and to aim for preserving the intrinsic quality of the grapes into the bottle makes it that Aaldering takes part in the cult revolution of top quality Pinotage wines. THE VINEYARDS & WINES At Aaldering (Stellenbosch) we specialize in a variety of 4 Pinotage wines, including a classic 24 months barrel-aged Pinotage, a zesty unwooded version called Lady M, a Pinotage Blanc de Noir which uniqueness attracts the attention of wine lovers worldwide, as well as a Pinotage rosé. Next to that Aaldering makes another 4 beautiful wines knowing Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Shiraz and a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon-Merlot. SUSTAINABILITY – ENVIRO LABEL We are not a certified organic wine producer however we work towards sustainability in the vineyards, as one of the 10 most sustainable wineries of South Africa as certified by Enviro Wines, that confirms them being amongst the top-class of IPW (Integrated Production of Wine) accredited producers. For us however it is not about being certified, our focus is to make the best quality wines of South Africa while doing our best to preserve nature, and still achieve our goals quality wise. We focus on working with our vineyards and only react to pressures in the vineyard when symptoms are seen, rather than work on a programme. Considering we have a small estate, 21 ha. under vine, we are able to focus and isolate the problem if there is any, in order not to affect the total harvest of our estate grown grapes.
